Signs that someone can’t hear you

Approximately 48 million people in the US have some degree of hearing loss. Here are some signs of hearing loss:

- Frequent request for repetition

- Confusion during conversation by not responding or responding inappropriately

- Non-responsive or seems to be ignoring

- Leaning in and paying close attention to facial expressions

- Communicating with signs and gestures rather than using voice

-Speaking in an unusually loud voice

-Presence of hearing aid(s) or cochlear implant
